Wonderful, wonderful place took care of him for any locals - "Animal Heaven" in Hollis, NH. An old former dairy farm, owned by an elderly couple there all their lives. Woman told me they were married between cow milkings in the barn her husband helped build at age 14, then back to work. They have a small pet cemetery and she makes her living doing the cremations. When I brought him there, in his bed, she was petting him for a long time, and the last I saw as I was backing out was her firing up the machine and then going back to pet him some more.

Good Floppy is back home again together with his brothers and mother. Moritz's urn stands between his mother Paulinchen and his uncle Willi.

Yes, mom named her. Not sure of the spelling. It's what Dad wrote on the back of the pic. That's how it was pronounced - "Berba-Lee". Or, "Berbie" for short.

Floppy is home, on the right. They're all together again. Daisy, Robocat, Ivan, and Floppy. They'll all be getting picture urns like Daisy. FINALLY ordered Robocat's yesterday.

I am truly sad to read this. He was a fine old boy. Even when expected, the loss of our furry friends is sad. My Charlie (17) died very suddenly a couple of days before Christmas. I now have a gorgeous orange tabby rescue (named Handsome) who is about 3. We are starting our journey together and I have done the same math that you have Mark. It is a life's commitment that we make when we accept a new boy into our homes.

Wonderful to find such treasures. Only a few weeks ago I was looking at 50 years old pics together with my mother and we found something like this, too. I was holding a few days old kitten in my hands when I was about 6 years old.
