At 3.00pm, today, Friday, 29th October, Bruno can come home!!!!! Nothing more can be done by vets except medication, diet plan etc. No prognosis of how long he will live as his condition is about as bad as it gets. Now I'm looking into absent and hands-on healing which I feel can work and also by the power of positive thought and Reiki....Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Love you all.....Greta and Bruno xxxxxxx

I totally agree, after what has happened, that the dried is not ideal but the vets push it and tell you it's the best. It's so expensive too and I think the vet makes must make commission selling it. I think I must change the diets of all the cats now and try to get them fresh food, chicken, beef etc and mix this with seasonal vegetables. They are so picky with food and know what they like so I will try to wean them off gradually supplementing various meals with fresh or raw food......

Vet cannot understand why Bruno looks so well when all the tests show how seriously ill with renal failure he is. It's a nightmare. I have seen him twice today and tonight I had to catch him when he leaped off the table in the treatment room. What a shock that was as I was stroking him at the time and just caught him. I'm baffled & so is vet. Any ideas what I can do next. I must save him.............x

Hello everyone. Bruno looks great today, bright eyed & happy. However his blood toxic levels are through the roof and the vet says there is nothing more he can do for him but does not want to put him to sleep as he would normally with such a sick animal so he is sending him home. I am now looking at other ways of saving him....if it's possible...I love him so much.......I am devastated.........

I am so very grateful to you akk for your wonderful support for me and my precious little boy. I'ts very interesting that Bruno prefers dried cat food. Lewis also eats this and I feel it is going to be better now to wean them both off it and use wet or freshly prepared food. I wonder now if the dried food has contributed to his currwnt state of health. Has anyone else found that this is the case? xx

Thanks to everyone, my dear lovely friends. Tonight I have been researching feline renal failure to see what I can do for him. There is so much more help for cats suffering this condition available in America than in UK where we live. There is not even a place for dialyisis here that I can see even though they are trying to raise funds to get one. It's such a shame. If only I can do something......

Vets said they have to find out what is going on so they know what treatment he will need and will start it straight away. I can't understand how this illness can happen and what has caused it......He is so young and has been in quite good health apart from the virus he had at the start of the year.

Thank you so much everyone. Bruno is a bit brighter and happier today (26/10/10) but his toxin levels are still high and haven't moved today. He has been up & eating but the vet says his kidneys don't look so good on the xray. As I am writing this, vets are doing a small biopsy to kidney with a hollow needle to see if there are cancerous growths. It's a nightmare.....Please pray for him.......xx

That's so lovely, Mary. I am feeling so down and brokenhearted. I have just been to the vets (3 pm Monday) to visit Bruno and he is so weak. He is on a drip and is having extra potassium as his salts are down. He recognised me straight away and rubbed my hand with his mouth and purred. He then got very sleepy and felt cold so I didn't stay too long as I didn't want to over-tire him. If he survives, the next two days are critical but hope is fading. I just can't believe all this...........

Terrible news. Bruno's kidneys are failing and vets don't give him much hope as he is weaker and full of toxins. I am devastated for my beautiful and precious little man. They are flushing his kidneys though in the hope that there may be some improvement but don't think it will happen. only 5% chance. They will only do this for two days.......so many tears for my lovely little boy....

It's 11.15 at night, Sunday and Caroline, the vet has just rung. Bruno is not passing urine and is in great discomfort. She is going to anaesthetise him again and put a catheter in. She wanted permission to do this. I'm now frantic with worry......

Thank you all for your lovely messages of support. Bruno is still in. His condition has stablised & his breathing is OK. He is on a drip and having fluid and painkillers. The main concern is his heart murmur which is quite pronounced. He has been drinking but hasn't eaten very much. The vets will update me tomorrow. I miss him so much but I know he is better off being where he is at the moment....xxxxxxxx

I cannot express my thanks enough for all your lovely messages. No news yet and it's Sunday morning now, 10.00am. I had a sleepless night, just thinking of him. I don't understand anything about this. It doesn't make sense. Coming so soon after Charlene's illness and partial blindness feels so cruel. I'm praying for him and good news........x

Thank you both so much. Vet has just been on the phone (10.35 tonight,23/10/10 ) and has said that ultrasound has shown no fluid in lungs but heart still sounding bad.Bruno is still under anaesthetic and they are doing more tests on his heart murmur. I am baffled.... and so sad for Bruno. He had such a bad start to life, being so cruelly treated by his previous owners.....He is so happy now and it all seems so unfair........

Thank you so much. I am waiting for the vets to ring. They think he has water in his lungs and will drain them but there's a huge risk involved. My poor little boy........
