The other day I was dishing out their wet food and a cat jumped up on the counter next to me, about a foot away. I habitually said "BAD!!" because it was right next to the stove, which I'm trying to keep them away from. It ended up being Mikesch, and he instantly jumped down. I wish I'd known it was him, that would've been a good moment. But, today, I got him to come close enough to sniff the cat food can in my hand.

Mikesch is no longer worried about being cornered in the spare room. He'll jump down and out-maneuver you if you go into the room, but he's totally comfortable falling asleep in there before that happens.

Yup, I'm really this close -- that's not zoom. He's a total house cat under the bed, but still a feral when in the open. I'm convinced it's just a cat game now.
