Niapatuk says:
When we saw this cat for the 1st time we didn't know it's male or female. "Kot" means cat-male in Russian, cat-female is called "koshka". Well, we made up the name Kota by combining Kot and ending 'a' so that name would suit whoever it is, and when the cat started to respond when we called it Kota-Kota-Kota, name stayed with the cat...

Katia seems fine; kittens left on different days so she probably had some time to adjust to decreasing # of kids? The orange one lives next door and Katia saw him today and played with him a lot. Nora was happy to play with brother too! Couple others live with our friends so we'll soo them grow.
Niapatuk says:
that's right, Nora is here with Katia, Kota-Kota and Terra; the little brothers moved to their new homes at week 8-9 (today Nov 1st/08 they are 10 weeks old).
Niapatuk says:
Kota-Kota was a stray or abused cat with zero trust to humans. It took almost two long years to turn him into "family man". After 6 months of food and milk he allowed us to touch him; after few more months he walked into our house but still would run away; this summer after Katia got pregnant we finally were able to catch him neutered and vaccinated after what he disappeared for 10 days. When he came back he was ours!
Niapatuk says:
It's somewhat sad at home now - all Nora's brothers - 2 orange and 3 black&white - live with new parents now... We wish them all the best!
Niapatuk says:
it's 6: 3 just like daddy black-and-white, 2 orange and 1 calico. The calico will stay with us while the other kittens will have new 'parents' in about couple of months.
Niapatuk says:
yes my friends, we finally were able to catch Kota-Kota (he is still feral) and he is in the vet clinic now (Aug 28) and will get neutered today.
