This pic with some changes in tech could have been taken in a village by a fjord 1000 years ago, give or take. They're different, and on the edge of completely wild. Even after living with them in my face after 5 years, lol!

I woke up one morning and looked outside and there was what I thought was a dead turkey on the lawn. 1/2 hour later I went out to move it, as it hadn't moved at all. When I walked up to her, her head popped up and she stood up, and all these chicks were under her! They were a little bigger than chicken chicks then!
