Don't feel bad for Chloe. She won big time! She found the perfect home to be the only cat in for the rest of her life. She lived to be almost 18 in great health, had a decline that lasted two days, and passed in the lap of her devoted guardian in no pain or distress at all! I call than a BIG win!! Great life, sweetheart! See you later.

I got word today Chloe passed away peacefully, after 4 happy years as the queen of her house. She would've been just shy of 18 years old. From my friend who took her in and gave her a great life:
"It is with a heavy heart I say Chloe passed away this morning. She went peacefully and quickly I don't think she suffered at all. She stopped eating two days ago I tried tempting her with tuna, cheese and home canned chicken. She seemed ok until last night. I had her in my lap this morning when she died. At least we had the chance to make her last years comfortable. Patty doesn't know yet, she's not going to take this well. She was Chloe's favorite. May tomorrow bring a better day to us all."

In fairness, this is just a simple flip-top, non-locking bottle. Definitely stil a big challenge to a cat and a mind-blower. But just think, if he had opposable thumbs....

When I came home from work, I found that he targeted a bottle of fish oil capsules in the middle of a bunch of other bottles on the counter without disturbing any of the others, managed to get it open, and ate an indeterminate amount of the capsules.

He was in "wakey dream land", just like this, totally oblivious to everything around him,so I got this shot of him enduring the horror of captivity.
