I can get Storm to stay on the scale very rarely, usually he's terrified of it. Mikesch still can't be picked up except if you surprise him. It's the only way now he's not a totally normal "tame" cat.

Storm, almost 3 years old and a steady 10.6 pounds, is now the smallest cat in the house. He's still holding his own against Ambercat, but has to work for it now! And, Ambercat is in fact sizing me up here, The fact that I have a 20x weight advantage on him doesn't matter to him much at all!

I'm so sorry. Losing a cat at a "ripe old age" is bad enough. I can't imagine what it's like losing one so young, and hope I never do. Just goes to show you have to live every day with them, from the start, as if it's the last one.

The two feral brothers continue to work out their plan to escape from the captive horror they got into since their trapping almost 3 years ago. Right after this nap, their next feeding, a few hours sunning outside, and maybe another feeding, it'll be time to enact the Plan and go back into the woods.
