I can absolutely count on a long hiss EVERY time I lift the cover on the bed over Cat Town, from Mikesch, followed now by him relaxing, satisfied that he's done his part as a feral cat, and then waits for his scritches, slowly turning over so I get under his chin and his belly. The fact that I'm the only human, in all the world, that has his trust, is very satisfying! Anyone else in here, and he's a wild, scared feral, finding a place to hide. Tempering that, is the sobering thought that I have what is effectively a special needs cat, quite young, and depending on ME, for the rest of his life, while I get old and fall apart.

4 months old, still 7 pounds under Floppy, but only a little under 3 pounds lighter than Storm. I have no previous experience with Missouri cats, but apparently they grow them BIG!

Mikesch continues to tame down even more after every "traumatic" incident, the latest being his last vet visit. Since coming home successfully from that, he jumps up on the desk next to me and asks for food, comes to me for scritches, and stays put when I lay down in bed 6 inches from him. Still feral, but I gain "points" every time I put him in a situation where I can easily "get rid" of him, and that doesn't happen, and, in fact, he gets lots of treats when it's all over.

He's been stuck hovering around 7 lbs - plus or minus 1 lb for about 3 weeks. I weighed him at about 4PM on 11/25, and he was 7 lbs. I just threw him on the scale on 11/26, and he's gained .8 pounds in about 12 hours! Growth spurts are fun!

I'm sorry if this is inappropriate, but this story really got to me. A no-kill shelter in Massachusetts suffered a devastating fire the weekend of 11/22/15. 17 cats and 37 dogs died. This shelter was one of the type that took in pets destined for euthanasia from kill shelters. They are devastated now. If anyone can help, or can share this story, the link to the shelter website, with donation info, is here : https://www.sweetpeafora.org/ Please share this on your social media haunts.

I heard a LOUD crash tonite, and found this. Probably what happened was that Storm or Ambercat chased the other up the chair, and both ended up on the headrest at the same time, and their inertia pushed it over. But, this is what I found, so part of me, after everything else Terror Cat has "pulled off", and that includes pulling a cat 2.3 times his weight across the floor by his collar, is going...."OMG, he's only 7 pounds, and STILL growing". And, that tail and stance says he's pretty proud of his handiwork. He looks like a glowing ember in my wood stove when he's "inspired". Firecat would've been an excellent name. All the lore on ginger cats is true with this one! He's 110% cat, like Robocat was.
