Wow! Really? She must have been so talented! I know how it feels to abbandon a dream. I used to play violin and piano in Milan's conservatorio and sing in "La scala" choir. But Wayne if she did so, it was only because she was truly in love with your father and there's nothing greater than finding true love! And yours is one of the few families blessed by true love, affection and care for one another. I think anyone would give anything to have it, to have these feelings even if only for one day!
