I tried everything to get them on it-treats, laser pointer, catnip-they wanted nothing to do with it. Evidently it was very "hot" and could not be touched with paw pads.

Oh uh, your cats didn't take to it? There's a 20 minute assembly video on the website, and I thought that it was funny at the end, when the wheel was assembled, and the guy in the video points to the shipping box and says "Save the box for your cat".
